Okay, firstly, I don't want another argument on religion. If you don't believe in God, and you disagree with EVERYTHING said, don't comment. Keep it to yourself, please. This is just a reminder of the true meaning of Christianity, as over the years it has been changed to some people who consider themselves 'Christian'.
Christianity is not just knowing that there is a God watching over us. That is only a little part of it. To be a follower of God, you have to do what Jesus would do. (Have you every seen wristbands that say WWJD? It stands for What Would Jesus Do)
Another way people think that they are Christian is following the Ten Commandments. JUst because you don't swear, you don't steal, you don't murder doesn't mean you will get into heaven. I'm not saying that you should just ignore the commandments now, but just doing those can't make you considered a Christian. You have to do more. You have to place yourself as a servant and give up your riches. The Bible says the first will be last and the last will be first.
Matthew 25:35-40(NIV) says:
"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.
Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’"
Another small thing I would like to add in. I'm not saying names here, but once I was just looking at people profiles (I like looking at designs) and I saw that someone wrote in their bio that they swear and all on the internet but in real life they are strictly good. No. It doesn't work that way. God sees EVERY thing you do. That includes the internet. Just because you say a swear word over the internet, doesn't mean that it isn't a sin.
To round up, I'd like to share a little verse with you. You might've seen it in another blog of mine.
John 14:16
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
You think Jay-Z singing 'oh yea oh yea, jesus gon die while satan gon live oh yee' is good'? Go read the lyrics of ALL his songs. Plus *religious *actually *technically.
you just got a -1. Why? Well, first off, this doesnt accully explain what cristianity technacaly is. Also, you say it like you HAVE to be a religios fanatic. I hate those guys. Rock music is not evil.
You can tell the devil is mad at you. Look at the rating. I for one +1. I'm a Christian. I expected more from this though. Christianity isn't really a religion, it's a lifestyle. Not submitting your riches, but giving God your gifts, talents, and all that is due him. And, I was hoping you'd put this point in:
Sin doesn't stop you from getting into heaven. Unbelief does. That doesn't mean say you believe and sin like no tomorrow, it means those who practice sin, or continuously purpose sin, have unbelief and will not tarry in God's sight, less he repentith and change his ways.
An as for the blog, it's great. I think most of the monotheistic religions get thrown around a bit too much, people claiming they are of a certain religion when they blatantly go against the simple guidelines let alone the beliefs.
By the way, this is just some helpful critersizm or what ever you call it, debate against it if you wish.
"To be a follower of God, you have to do what Jesus would do."
You don't "have" to follow that perspective, or way of living and still be a modest Christian. In the past people have tried using "WWJD" to live morale lives such as when the World war was going on people tried objecting to war on the grounds of religion often telling them self, "Jesus wouldn't go up to arms and fire at another human" however, if you do a bit of history, you'll know a large portion of the population participated during the war, who's to say they were bad Christians because they did somethin Jesus wouldn't do? /Random history thrown in.
I will say, and DON'T delte this comment, because I'm actually agreeing with you on something.

That paragraph is very true, even for Atheists, because why? You shouldn't do or say something on the internet just because the consequences aren't immediate.
You can delete it once you read, but my point is, that one paragraph should hold true to everyone, regardless of faith, or lack-of.
