I've never been a huge fan of Sony products and have found many reasons to dislike the company over the years.
I finally thought I'd found a Sony Product that worked well:
Sony Vegas 10 (Pro Platinum)
I love this software to death- or did...
The set came with the movie editor, a sound editor and a DVD editor for $100.
The controls are pretty smple, and the tutorials help quite a bit when you are trying to start out.
The programs are filled with features and options to make your video the best it could possibly be.
The programs made several very good videos for me:
Search SilverSteelRCT3 on YouTube and click the "Bell Gardens Medley" video to see an example.
I thought theprogram was great...
Until today however.
I just bought my first real camera, a Nikon Coolpix P500 and had some video, shot in 1080p, that I wanted to edit.
I put the footage into my video and began to edit a music video, using footage from our fair.
Around the 3 minute mark of editing footage, something happened.
All of a sudden foootage began to lag, and a red screen appeared.
I figured it was a glitch, so I saved, exited, and re-entered the program.
Still there. I could no longer even see my footage, all I saw was a stinking red screen.
I decided to Google the issue, only to be angered further by the results of my findings.
It seems "red scree nof death" is a common glitch but one not fixed by Sony.
In the last two versions of Vegas, this glitch has been present, yet Sony has not seemed to do anything to try and prevent it from happening a third time.
I find that to be ridiculous on Sony's part, and find their lack of action to be even more so.
So I'm out $100 because my brand new software can't handle 3 minutes of 1080p video! What a joke.
Last time I buy any Sony products, that's for sure!
Horrible/10
If they fix that glitch I'll be happy. But until that time, my rating stays that way.
Lol, now ps3 fans can't use xbox's red ring of death as an argument, at least it only happens after years and you can send it away for a new one for free
