The enzyme does become active in cooler areas of the cat's skin, which results in the dark colors where the enzyme is active & light color everywhere else. The areas are: The tail, the legs, & the face (which is cooled by air passage through the sinuses. Siamese kittens are always born white or cream. The coloring becomes noticeable within the first few weeks, & by the time the kitten is 4 weeks old, the color should be clearly visible. Siamese cats tend to darken with age & an Adult Siamese living in a warm climate will be lighter then their cousins living in cold climates.
COLORS: The Original Siamese are ONLY Seal-Point (Dark-brown to Black). But, the NON-Original colors are: Blue-Point (Coal-Gray), Chocolate-Point, & Lilac-Point (Pale-warm gray). The United Kingdom Accepts all pointed Siamese style cats as part of the Siamese breed. In United States of America Only the 4 original, Blue-Point, Seal-Point, Chocolate-Point, & Lilac-Poimt, are accepted. Any other coloring are classified as Colorpoint Shorthairs.

HEALTH: •High Risk of cancer, especially Mammary tumors •Lower risk of Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease than your average Cat.
•High Risk of Progressive Retinal Atrophy due to the Albinism gene.
•Kinky Tails & Cross eyes was an issue among this breed, but not anymore.

I read this Because my Mom's GF Has a Siamese cat, And It is sick. As far as I was told, She Has a hole in her heart. We keep her in my Mother's room because My cat, A SnowShoe/Domestic Shorthair mix, Has become the Dominant female cat (We have 5 cats, all spoiled x3) And my cat Attacks our Siamese cat whenever she sees her.
