Alex didn't even notice Tag as she knocked the stag to the floor just a few feet away from where Maddie landed face first after missing her prey.
The first moment she realized Tag was there was when she realized she wasn't the only one struggling to hold back laughter when Maddie raised her once perfect but now mud-covered face from the ground.
"Very nice catch there, Alex! Oh and, Maddie, ummm.....your landing was....amazing." Tag said, letting out a low chuckle. Maddie shot him a warning growl then turned to Alex. Maddie glared at Alex for while before letting out a deafening snarl and storming past her only stopping to whisper into Alex's ear, "You will pay for this, mutt. Remember, as of tonight I'm your alpha and you have to do everything I say."
To which Alex shot back, "Over my dead body."
Maddie flipped her fur the way she always did and simply said,"that can be arranged." and walked off.
Tag wandered over to Alex and said, "now that girl has a temper!"
"I know. And most of it's aimed at me!" Alex chuckled.
"That's going to get you in trouble one day, Alex. And until I'm alpha no-one can help you." Tag warned.
"Don't worry about me, Tag, I'm a big girl, I can look after myself." Alex said, walking away.
Tag watched her go, thinking, "I only worry 'cause I love you".
