Being an Assassin isn't always all it's cracked up to be. I only do it because someone has to, and it might as well be me. I only spend part of my time at Headquarters, and that's during the day, when my foster family thinks I'm at school and doing various after school activities. They don't know I'm an Assassin, much less that I'm a pixie. It's just a good thing I don't gave my wings yet.
Since we gave some time before things get interesting, I might as well break down the Otherworler's class system. It basically
goes by species, so let's start at the top.
At the very top, we have the Fair Children. The fey. The fairies. Don't mistake these guys for Tinkerbell either. They're at the top for a reason. If you rub these people
the wrong way, your doomed. Because of something we call 'glamour' the fey, to human eyes, just appear to be startlingly Beautiful people with odd eye colors. But without the glamour, they're not quite as
appealing. Still very beautiful, just in a mildly disturbing way.
Next we have the children of Lillith. The warlocks and witches. For those of you
who don't know, Lillith was supposedly the first wife of Adam, who was gifted with immortalness and magical gifts. I don't
know if any of this is true, but I do know
that our oldest warlock at HQ, Grant
Hollows, is about 350 years old. And he looks about 19. Scary, right? The theory is that they live for ever. I'm assuming that's true. Warlocks are considered to be about equal to the fey, but for the most part they keep to them selves.
Next are the werewolves, who tie into the
shaleshifters. There are only a few shapeshifters who can shift any animal, and those are the ones who belong to the Direct House, shifters who are directly related to the Animorphuses. Any other shifter can only shift one animal. The
animals can range from anything from a lion to a mouse. The more Feirce your
animal, the higher your class.
Below shifters, we have the pixies. Don't confuse us with fairies, because we're
completely different. The fey got perfection
and beauty. We got the more mischievous
charms. We're noturious for causing trouble and stealing things. In fact, the
Greek god of theives, Hermes was actually a Pixie. Back then, the Otherworlders were hiding it out on Mt. Olympus and somehow got mistaken for
gods. About all the Otherworlders are immortal, so they're all still alive today. Aphrodite was a fey, Ares was a shifter. So on, so forth.
At the bottom of the pyramid, we have the vampires. They live in abandoned hotels, factories and houses. They're not very high up unless they're lamia. They're the direct decended from the first ever vampires, the unmade ones. The made ones are considerably low class. I'm not
sure why, they just are. Colby is a lamia... Which maybe I should explain.
Colby is my older brother, but I'm a pixie and he's a vampire. When and Otherworlder's child is born to parents of two different species, at age 10. We get to
choose which we want to be. Colby wanted to be like dad. I wanted to be like mom. We went different species. We're still brother and sister, I'm just mischevious and theiving, and he has to go out every three days for blood.
Speaking of Colby, he was having a fun time flicking me in the ear while we waited for our guests.
"Colby, knock it off." I groaned, shoving him away. He smirked and pulled his hand back.
"Quit picking on her." Shadow sighed, annoyed. I rolled my eyes.
"What's taking so long?" Vergil asked, "Thet were supposed to be here an hour ago." I checked my watch. It was three o'clock. They should've been here at two.
"They'll be here." Shadow muttered. "Jason has yet to let me down."
" Why is this Jason guy coming with his team anyway?" I asked, leaning forward with my elbows on my knees and my head resting between my palms.
"I told you, Fallyn." Shadow said, running a hand through his hair "There was a massive demon out break twenty miles from here. There were shifters and fey involved. Jason's team specializes in Demons, we specialize in-"
"Everything else." Colby finished. I groaned.
"They could at least be on time." Vergil complained.
"Relax, Verge, here they come." Shadow sighed. Headed towards us was a group of five people. The one who appeared to be leading had shaggy black hair and peircing blue eyes. The girl to his left had flame red hair cut short, boy short. The guy to his left had curly blonde hair and soft brown eyes. The two other boys looked like twins, both with straight brown hair and grey eyes. This had to be Jason and his team, or so the weapons strapped to them suggested.
