Todays issue: The R.A.T.
I. What does a RAT have to do with a computer?
Not, RAT as in the ones that Cats eat! An R.A.T, or Remote Administration Tool, such as (these are simple ones) NetBus, PrjRAPTOR, and DarkComet, ae nothing to be tampered with. These programs allow unrestricted Access to Any File, Setting, or even letter you type on your computer!
II. OH NO, THE RATS ARE GONNA GET ME!
Not EXACTLY.
The RATs' (Though they are illegal for none other then Personal use) allow the controller to:
1. Access The users Private Documents
2. Get The Users Passwords and Credit Card Numbers
3. Execute Remote Commands
4. And More, If you have the right one.
III. If I have an AntiVirus...Am I safe?
If Your Antivirus is UPDATED, and has a subscription, you should be fine.
IV. These Seem Cool, is there a non-lethal one?
Infact there is! It is developed by Symantec (The Owners of "Norton"`, and is called "PCAnywhere".
