Shadow tapped my shoulder.
"On your feet, Fallyn." He ordered. I groaned, loudly.
"Are they really that important?" I sighed. Colby grabbed my arm and hauled me to my feet.
"Heaven forbid you actually have to move." he muttered.
"Finally, someone who understands." I said. By now the group if five had reached us. I was already sizing up how good of an opponent each one would be. The one leading, by the looks of it, would be the hardest to take down. Sizing up an opponent before knowing their names, over cautious right? Wrong. It's full blown paranoid.
"I'm Jason." the one with black hair said. He extended a hand to Shadow, "You must be Shadow." Shadow took his hand and shook it.
"This is Colby, Vergil, and Fallyn." Shadow replied, gesturing to each of us as we were introduced. "We have another two people we'll be working with, but I'll introduce them when we get back to base."
Jason nodded. "This is Anna-Marie." He said gesturing to the girl. "The twins are Spencer and Dillon, and the blonde is Lukas. What species are we working with?"
This was standard introduction. Names, species, specialties. Nothing too informative though, incase one of us was a spy.
"I'm a warlock, Colby is a vampire, Vergil is a wolf, and Fallyn is a pixie." Shadow replied. I shifted, uncomfortably, not used to sitting still for so long. I'm a little ADHD and if we didn't move soon, I was going to explode. Shadow shot me a side ways glance.
"Fallyn, why don't you run back to HQ and ready the rooms?" he suggested. I smiled gratefully until the red head snorted,
"I'm guessing she's just on the team for bait?" She snorted. Anna-Marie. That's what Jason had called her.
"Excuse me?" I said, my smile shifting to a sneer. She gave me a patronizing look.
"Well, he's sending you back to HQ..." she snickered. Jason gave her a pained look. The twins pit their heads in their hands.
"Please be quiet, Anna." Lukas muttered. Anna-Marie ignored them.
"Actually," Colby said, "Fallyn is our best hand to hand combat fighter. She's pretty handy with her weapons too."
"She just hates sitting still for extended periods of time." Vergil added "And you guys were an hour late. Running back would give her something to do." Anna-Marie went silent. I smirked, deviously.
"So, ha." I taunted, before zipping off to head quarters.
Believe it or not, pixies run fast. As in, really fast. We're known for being able to glut around at the speed of light. I wasn't going quite that fast, but I was going fast enough that I would be a blur to any human. I ducked down inti the under ground tunnel that lead to the base....
And barreled right into Drake.
Fast? Yes I am. Graceful? Not so much.
"Fallyn." he groaned, picking himself off the ground. "Watch where your going."
"Sorry, Drake." I apologized. I hopped toy feet. "Where are you going?"
He shook his head, "To find you and your team. We were worried Jason's group wouldn't show."
"Well, they did." I muttered. I thought of Anna-Marie with a flash of contempt.
"Why'd Shadow send you back?" he asked, as we started walking through the tunnel.
"I got... Fidgety," I replied "You know how I am." Drake laughed.
"ADHD is a pixie thing, isn't it?" he asked. I shrugged and smiled.
"Grant has it too." I said.
"Grant is also an idiot." Drake pointed out. I laughed. "That he is." There was a loud crack. The tunnels shook violently and dirt poured down on us. Drake and I looked at each other.
"I really hope this is just Katirina having one of her tantrums." I said.
"Me too." Drake said as we started running. I ran slowly so I could keep up with Drake. There was a another loud crack followed by a boom. Dirt rained down on us.
"The tunnels are going to cave!" Drake yelled.
"No, really?" I shouted back "I hadn't noticed!"
"This is no time for-Augh!" Drake yelled as we were both smothered by dirt. I struggled under the rocks and soil. One thing was for sure. If this was Katirina's doing, I was going to kill her.
