Time was passing so slowely, and yet so fast. Marcus uncertaintly began a scan for any evidence on the Great Fox III that could give them an idea of who the mysterious intruder was.
The vulpine sat at his desk, facing his open door, trying to clear his mind. He'd done so much in the past 3 weeks, but he had so much left to do.
Marcus almost jumped as soft music that began playing. He must of accidentally bumped his StrokeMP9 music player.
"I've been alone with you inside my mind."
A vision of Scarlet, smiling and looking shyly at Marcus over her shoulder, appeared in Marcus' head.
"And in my dreams I've kissed your lips, a thousand times."
Only in his dreams. He kicked her out of his life. No chance at kissing her ever again.
"I sometimes see you pass outside my door."
Just then, Scarlet briefly passed by Marcus' open doorway, her head hung low.
"Hello, is it me you're looking for?"
Marcus put his hands to his face. Maybe she was, but he couldn't have her. It would lead to to many uneeded issues.
"'Cause I see it in your smile,
and I see it in your eyes,
you're all I ever wanted,
and my arms are open wide!"
Marcus barred his teeth and sounded a low, frustrated growl.
"Because you know just what to say!
And you know just what to do!"
Marcus jumped up and frantically searched for his small music player.
"And I want to tell you so much..."
He found it and almost began to crush it in his hand.
"...I love you."
Marcus' last sane nerve snapped, amd with a loud cry and he fired the gadget acreoss his room. It struck a small frame that held a picture of him, his dad, and his mom when he was about 6. The glass shattered into a million tiny fragements that flew across the room from the voilent impact. One hit Marcus' arm, slicing it sharply and them falling to the floor.
Marcus let out another cry and fell to his knees on the glass-shard covered ground, clenching his arm and breathing heavily.
