Todays issue is: Beta OS's

I. Ok, Whats with the weird lingo?

Well, Beta (Greek Alphabet) comes after Alpha, the first letter of that Alphabet!

As HullBreach pointed out ( and I'm glad he did, cause I'm a bitter fool), The initial testing is the Alpha, then and only then is the test version is called The beta.

II. You've Got me lost, whats different?

Well, lots of things! Like The beta may have a different Boot Screen,(The thing that shows the Logo, and the little bar, or "Starting Windows"

And Could be a tottally different OS then the Alpha! (Ex. Windows Whistler)

They also have Code Names!

95: Memphis
98: Chicago and 97
2000: (I don't know his one of the top of my head)
ME:Millenium
XP: Whistler
Vista: Longhorn
7: 7

There was no diffreence with Windows 97 and Windows 98. They were exactly the same. The password screen never worked.

The internal testing is the Alpha phase. External testing is the Beta phase. The Release Candidate may become the final version, possibly with tweaks.
