Those are more of just facts about modern day Easter food. How about the traditions incorporated into the celebration of the Resurrection as Pagans converted to Christianity?

- The symbols of rabbits and eggs came from fertility, which evolved into the re-birth of life.

- Many civilizations have symbolism of the compass direction east because the sun rises in that direction. It can be taken to mean figuratively that a new day has begun. The word "Easter", and the origin of that word and "east" refer to that dawn.
