Marcus stood, rooted to the ground, mouth gaping in horror. The gun fired loudly, the sphere of hot energy shooting insanely fast straight at the vulpine. He snapped out of his daze just in time to do a backflip out of the lazer's destrustive path. He collected his wits and oranized a plan of attack.
Staying close to the tank was hard. Get TOO close and you get crushed and embedded into the ground, but get to far away and be in the gigantic gun's aiming range.
Marcus played along for a mintue before intentionally standing in front of the gun. The Morbid body fired a heavy shot at him, and Marcus dodged it at the last second, unintentionally searing his uniform on the leg. He hit the ground and layed motionless.
The Morbid body leaped from the tank after a second of seeing if the vulpine was still conscious. It gleefully stopped by his body and hungrily stared at him.
Then, Scarlet's body turned back to it's normal reddish-brown hue, and the red-black color spilled out into a glob on the floor, inching towards the vulpine. Scarlet fell with a sickening thud to the ground, and the Morbids blanketed Marcus, sinking into his body. They temporarily gained control, making him stand and scream triumphantly.
Suddenly, voices rose out of the vulpine's mouth. They wailed and shreiked pitifully.
"NOOOOOOO!!! PLEEEEASEE NOOOO!!! DOOOON'T KILL USSSSS!!"
The vulpine fell to his knees, head hung, trying to keep control of his body. It felt like it was being internally ripped apart, it seared and burned mercilessly, and he knew if he opened his mouth he wouldn't stop screaming.
Finally, he felt normal. Just as fast as he'd been invaded he was free. His eyes widened and he dashed over to the vixen, laying unconscious on the floor. He stooped over her for a split-second, then scooped her up, and with tears streaming down his bloody face, dashed for his Arwing.
She wasn't breathing.
