Marcus star with his head in his hands, trying to control his panicked breathing. It had all happened so fast... he killed the Morbids, rushed Scarlet back to Corneria Hospital, called his parents and the rest of the team, and now, here he was, a pitiful site sitting helplessly in the hospital waiting room.
"Why didn't I do CPR? Why did I call mom and dad?! WHY DID I LET HER DOWN IN THE FIRST PLACE!!??"
Marcus slammed his fist down on the side table, and a few people around him jumped.
Fox McCloud turned to his son. He looked at him for a moment.
"Marcus, I think we need to let her go."
Marcus whirled around, and Cheyenne bit her lip.
"WHAT ARE YOU SAYING?!"
Krystal put her hand on his arm.
"Honey, we mean-"
The blue vulpine shoved her hand off and glared rebeliously at his mom. She looked away, hurt.
Fox gave Marcus a look, and the vulpine meekly followed his father to the hallway.
"It's just this, Marcus: You don't know the Morbid virus is completely gone. You don't know there isn't some in her still, or that there is some out there somewhere. They obviously want her as a pawn for their evil schemes, and that doesn't even exclude the fact that she will more than likely has various handicaps and suffer the rest of her life."
Marcus stared at his dad for a minute, the walked past him.
He was so confused... what was the right answer? What was he supposed to be doing?!
The blue vulpine turned and dashed into the lobby.
"Fred, Cheyenne, let's move."
The frog and rabbit looked at him heisitently, then shrugged and ran out of the hospital, fllowing the vulpine. They sprinted to the nearby hanger the hospital had made for the team in case of medical emergencies, and they hopped into their Arwings.
"Uh, what's going on, Marcus?"
Marcus radioed Fred back.
"We're terminating any more Mobids left in the Lylat system."
(Sorry, this chapter was lame; I always get stuck mood wise after an adventure part. Next one might be a little lame too, but the series is winding down in a few more chpters.)
