Pomeranians, also called Zwegspitz are the smallest dogs among the spitz breeds bred out of Germany. These dogs are small, being classified as a 'Toy' bred (though they look larger, due to they're coat). As with all Toy breeds, their comes the fragile state of being so much smaller then those around you.
DESCRIPTION/APPEARANCE They have an undercoat that's soft & warm, but an outercoat that's harsh & stands off the body, thus giving them a 'puffed-up' appearance. Their colors can be 1 of 5 variations: black, white, orange, tan, or orange. Their ears are erect & they have small ruffs. Their tails are arched over the back & carried flat. As I saud in the introduction, they're a 'Toy' breed, meaning they're small. They weigh in at only 3-7 lb (1.4-3kg) & stand at only 8-11 in (20-28 cm). Their grooming needs are moderate, & shedding can pose an issue for allergy suferers.
