Seeing as I apparently fail at Polemic Rants and Reviews, I guess the next option on my list is how-to`s and tutorials.
What you will need:
-Portable DVD Player with video-in*
-The cable it came with (it should be a cable with 3 RCA [red, white and yellow] outputs on one end and a headphone jack with three notches on the other. If it has two of these jacks, one with two notches and the other with a single notch, that also works. As long as they can be plugged into the video- and audio-in ports on the DVD Player)
- At least one RCA Coupler** (preferably you should get three of these)
- A video game console (Wii, Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, GameCube, ect.)
* It MUST have video-in.
** An RCA Coupler is a small device that has an RCA port on each side. In other words, it converts video-out into video-in. You can get these for around 3-5 dollars for a three-pack at RadioShack.
STEPS:
1) Set up the Portable DVD Player wherever you want it. Remember that you can move it later.
2) Set up the game console nearby. Be sure that the RCA cables at the end are moderately close to the DVD Player.
3) Attatch the RCA Couplers to the RCA Cables of the game system. If you have only one RCA Coupler, attatch it to the yellow RCA output of the console.
4) Attatch the DVD Player`s video cable to the DVD Player`s video- and audio-in ports.
5) Connect the video cable`s RCA ends to the Couplers.
6) Your setup should be as follows: Video game plugged into wall, video game`s video-out cables attatched to RCA Couplers, other end of RCA Couplers attatched to video cable, video cable attatched to DVD Player.
6) If the setup is right, turn on both the video game console and the DVD Player. Change the DVD Player`s mode to "Line-in" or "Video-in"
7) If everything is correctly set up, the video game`s output should show up on the DVD Player. If not, double check the connection with the couplers. Wiggle it around a tad and it should fix the problem.
