Many people in the past few months have learned that I have a problem with depression. I know that there are may other teens here, on this site alone who suffer from depression as well. I know that many of you guys that suffer, you harm yourself as a way to deal with the depression, as I have been in the past. I want you guys to know: YOU ARE NEVER ALONE! I know it's difficult to find someone who can talk to you. Someone you can confide in that has been where you are, that will be non-judgmental, & will just listen & advise you. I want to be that person. Even if you need to vent, I'm here. Add me, send me a comment on my profile. I'm always willing to talk & lend an ear & a hand.

This is a song that I love, it's by a band called Skillet, & although it's somewhat of a religious love song....it says how I feel....YOU'RE NEVER ALONE

I'm not religous but I like skillet, they are a great group. And about the whole cutting thing, I have thought about and ALMOST done it. But of course, I'm a very logical person. How would cutting my self help in any way what-so-ever? I'm also paranoid as all can be sometimes. Would I cut a major vein and bleed to death by accident? I know that some other depressed people don't use the same logic as I do. Logic is my way out of cutting myself, personally.

Skillet = best band ever they are the only band i know with a song for EVERYTHING (or atleast almost) ... on one cd. you can always find a song that relates to you by them

This blog reminded me of a true story told at Winterjams(huge Christian concert). A teenage girl came to the pastor and told her this story of her life:

She was a cutter, and was always sad. She had a rough life. Her mother was on heavy drugs and barely paid attention to her own daughter. As for her father, he beat her and raped her(sorry

). Ever since DHR was contacted, she lived with her uncle. Her uncle cared and loved her, and was a very Christian man. But she was still sad and depressed. Her classmates teased her, and she had no friends. Then her uncle brought her to Winterjams and as soon as he turned his head, she was going to run away. But when she heard the pastor preaching about God, she stayed and cried in joy.

Today she lives with her uncle, graduated highschool and is attending college. She goes to church everytime there is people there.

Pretty good idea, atleast it's someone that can relate to them. Buuut, you'll never be so sure on the figure of how much that actually suffer from depressions and as it seem (from the age and mentality) not many do (on this site) but probably lie about it instead, which is the sad truth all over the net

I try not to be judgemental when it comes to self-injury. Suffering from Cyclothymia, I do have bursts of depression. However, I've never been so depressed that I've resorted to self-mutilation or the like, so I can't honestly say that I know what you're going through. Still, I know it helps just to talk to somebody who won't judge or belittle you. You're a good person, Nikki. I would trust you as a confidant.
