The Bichon Frise is a tiny white cloud-like dog which is also referred to as the: Bichon a-poil Frise & the Tenerife Dog. In french, "Bichon Frise" means literally means "Fluffy Little Dog", which fits this dog quite well. They're robust, & in Norway they're used to round sheep, despite they're small size. & were originally popular with royalty as "fashion dogs" & are seen in a large number of paintings, especially in painting of Goya.
DESCRIPTION
This dog has a black nose, which is pink at birth & darkens with age, & dark eyes that look out from under a cloud of fluffy white hair, this gives the dog a humorous & curious expression. Their coat is in long, loose curls & comes only in white. (though slight cream markings are acceptable up to 18 months old.) They require careful, daily grooming so their curls don't become tangled & matted. These dogs are compact at a height of only 9-11 in (23-28 cm) & a weight of only 7-12 lb (3-5 1/2 kg). They have gracefully arched necks, & finely chiseled faces just visible beneath a cloud of plentiful hair. Their tail curls gracefully over their body.

-Happiest with families in which they can enjoy a lot of playful exercise.
-Good with children
-If unhappy, will become destructive or bark excessively
-Known to bark at the slightest motivation or cause.
-Thrives on attention & doesn't do well if left alone.
-Very adaptive.
-Can become shy & suspicious if not well socialized from early on.
-Needs firm, but soft handling when training & needs consistent reminders.
HEALTH
Life Span: 13-14 Years
-Tooth & Gum care are essential as these dogs are especially prone to gum disease.
-Flea bite sensitivity can be a problem
-Allergies (hay fever like allergies) is somewhat common in this breed.
-Urinary stones is noted to be a bit more frequent in this breed then average.
