What's insomnia? It's a sleeping disorder that leaves people unable to sleep properly.
Symptoms- •Inability to sleep regaurdless of how tierd you are
•Waking up randomly throughout the night [Say once a hour in 10 minout intervals]
•Waking up very early in the morning for no reason
•Feeling restless, irritable, tierd throughout the day regaurdless of how much sleep you get
Insomnia's not a disorder all on its own, but caused by various things, some simple as a dayly lifestyle or complicated as a disese.
Some causes:
•Mental conditions - Depression, bipolar, insanity,[Note: This is a brod term, due to many forms of insanity, some very minor] ect.
•Stress, anxiety
•A recent tramatic expiriance, ex. the death of a loved one or close friend
•Medical conditions - High blood pressure, Cancer, Liver disese, and many more.
•Dayly life style - Drinking excessive caffine throughout the day, using sleep medicatons or alchoal to fall asleep, Irregular sleeping patterns [Falling asleep randomly with no schedual], Frequant napping
What can you do to help your self if you have this disorder?
•Do things that releave stress for you, such as listen to calming music before sleep
•Have a comfortable place to sleep thats dark, quiet, and calming
•Avoid eating before sleep
•Don't drink excessive caffine, sweets, or anything allong those lines throughout the day, Note: Controled amounts are perfectly acceptable
•Avoid using sleep medicatons unless its gotten chronic and reccomended by a doctor, but never use alchoal
I wrote this blog because throughouy the site there seems to be many people with insomnia, sleeping disorders, or depression. I just wanted to try to help some of you. I suffer from minor insomnia, so I understand what your going through. Usually it passes with time or you learn to live with it easier, by developing sleeping patterns around it to ensure your rested enough for the day.
Lucas that's probably not good.. you might have a mild insomnia, or something else, the average time it takes to fall asleep is around 3-7 minutes I think. Also they say it's not good to watch tv or play video games before bed because it excites your brain.
A lot of people probably think they have this because of the computers, cell phones and video games and stuff keeping them up.. I'm not saying everybody, but probably a lot of teenagers. It would suck to have this for real though. I have the occasional night when I can't fall asleep for a couple hours, but it's usually due to nerves, excitement, etc..
