I thought I would give a quick overview of the 3DSPaint app to help clear up any confusion that may arise. As new features are added, information on them will be appended:
Painting: To switch the 3DS browser to the mode that allows drawing, hold the stylus in place for about 2 seconds.
Color Palette: To choose RGB color, click on each of the 3 colored palettes. To refine the color selection, re-click any one of the colors as many times as needed.
To choose gray, click on the grayscale palette. Reclicking the palette allows refining of the gray.
Dropper Tool To pick a previously-used color, first click on the current color indicator, then click on the desired color in the paining. The current color will change to the desired color.
Brush Size To change the brush size, click on one of the vertical bars at the bottom-right of the screen.
Painting Modes Click on the square next to the current color indicator to cycle through modes. Available painting modes are: Standard, Random, Darken, Lighten.
- Standard mode places no enhancements on the brush.
- Random mode adds slight noise while painting.
- Darken mode smears black paint into the existing artwork.
- Lighten mode smears white paint into the existing artwork.
Flood Fill The first icon performs the flood fill. In Standard mode, the fill is a solid color; in Random mode, the fill will have slight noise.
Negate The second icon negates the colors in the painting to look like a photographic negative.
Mirror The third icon reverses the painting horizontally like it was reflected in a mirror.
Flip The fourth icon reverses the painting vertically like is was reflected in a puddle.
Smooth The smooth filter applies a slight anti-alias to the painting.
