The warm breeze of the sea whipped through my hair, letting it snap in the wind. I breathed deep and welcomed the warm air. I smiled at the beautiful cerulean jewel below me, from where I stood on the balcony. A small russet shape was coming towards me, a ship perhaps. I prayed it wasn't one of those dreadful pirate ships. I frowned at the thought of those brutes. Pilaging villages, taking captives. It was enough to make any woman disgusted. May god rid the world of them all.
The brown dot was coming closer now, and I could tell it was rather large. U could just make out the black fabric of the sails...
Wait. The BLACK fabric.
"Pirates." I mouthed. I ran inside the house.
"Father!" I shouted, already running downstairs "Father! Pirates!" My gray haired father looked up from his book at me. He was out of his seats in an instant.
"How close?" he demanded.
"Pretty close." I replied. He headed out the door grabbing his gun on the way out.
"Stay here." He ordered. I obeyed and say down. Father would alert the people of the town. The men here would protect us- protect me. I would be safe. No one would harm me.

My eyes slowly blinked open. I hadn't realized I'd fallen asleep. I could hear gunfire outside. The pirates must have arrived. There was shouting and pounding on the door.
"Open up or I'll shoot it down!" a voice yelled. It was a smooth, almost melodic voice. It almost sounded... Femine. But that was ridiculous.
"I know you're in there!" A different voice shouted, this one decidedly male "So just open the door!" Fear erupted and my core. Were they pirates? What could they possibly want? We weren't an especially Rich family. What could they want.
"We warned you." The nearly femine voice yelled "Jack, take it down."
"With pleasure." the other voice cackled. There were three loud bangs against the door before the wood splintered to pieces. Three people entered the room.
The first was a tall, heavily muscled man. His hair was dark and unkempt. His eyes glittered a deep and void like black. He seemed to be only a few years older than me.
"'Ello, love." he drawled, leering at me. I coward into my chair.
"Not now, Jack." the femine voice snapped. The second person entered the room. The owner of the femine voice.
It was a girl.
She had to have been my age, with copper hair that fell in loose waves to her hips. Her eyes sparkled a beautiful sea green. Despite her pirates coat and captiabs hat, she was beautiful. Her skin was a smooth tan color, from long hours under the sun. Her hair was streaked with gold. In a dangerous sort of way she was beautiful.
"W-What do you want?" I stammered. The girl smirked.
"Daniel?" she called "You brought the sack right?" The third pirate, a man my age with locks as gold as rays of sunshine and eyes bluer than the sky. He was the most incredible looking boy I'd ever seen. He held up a coarse beige sack.
"Of course, Rina." he said. His voice was smooth as silk.
"Good." the girl he'd called 'Rina' mused "We're going to need it. Jack?" The black eyed man walked toward me. I sat frozen in my chair.
"Nighty Night, deary." he smiled. He brought something hard down on my head and the world went black.
