Herman Cain Likes Pokemon

Savii There's been some buzz on the Internet that merges politics and Pokemon - two favorite pastimes of members here. On Aug 11th, there was a Republican presidential primary debate in which Herman Cain gave the following closing lines as an inspirational thought:

A poet once said, "life can be a challenge, life can seem impossible, but it's never easy when there's so much on the line."

He mistakenly thought that the lines came from a song for the 2000 Olympics closing ceremony, but many websites have pointed out that the lyrics are actually played during the closing credits of Pokemon: The Movie 2000. This song, called "The Power of One" was on the album for the movie, as performed by Donna Summer. Plenty of Pokemon-related jokes immediately come to mind.

Now, upon digging deeper, one can find that those lyrics were actually borrowed by Summer from the 1990 book The Power of One: A Novel by Bryce Courtenay. This book focuses on the racism and brutality faced by a child during the World War II era South Africa. The child's strength serves as inspiration and historical fiction-based education to the readers.

So, does Herman Cain like to watch Pokemon with his grandchildren over a mouth-watering slice of Godfather's Pizza, or does he read books on enduring racism in apartheid Africa that may parallel his pre-Civil Rights experiences as a child in Atlanta, Georgia? Take your pick and cue the light-heartedly humorous responses (as opposed to the usual vitriol).

Pokemon is very cool! It has something that draws you to the screen playing it. HullBreach this is very interesting information. It must have tooken a lot of research. Please descibe youre opinion of pokemon. Also what do you think about this man. Do you think he really likes pokemon or just reads those books.

awww im learning about aparthied in a.p. world history :p aparthied means apartness, the afrikkans seperated the africans from their culture and opened fire on unarmed children, theirs a movie on it thats very interesting, grr idk the name, but denzel washington plays biko, o and i believe they use that ryhme in the movie aswell

Anyone who gets offended by someone saying pokémon sucks is a noob. It's their opinion, that doesn't mean you have to go all crazy on him. But on the other hand, Craig didn't have to be so blunt. So everyone's in the wrong!
