This seems to be a trend now, so I am going to blog on it as well. Video game violence can go too far. We all know it exists. But is there a solution to it?

Here's a little background to it. It began way back when video games were just starting to become popular, possibly even Pong. We'll take Super Mario Bros. from the NES as our first example, however. For many of us, it was a very difficult game to complete. To some, it is more violent, while to others, it is not. It all depends on what type of gamer you are. Suppose you get to world 8 (Which is the final world for those who don't know), and you fall into a hole, causing a game over. This can cause great rage, which in turn can result in being very violent. Maybe you grab the game out of your NES and chuck it at the wall in anger. Then you might take your controller and bash in into your TV. Finally, you might kick your NES until it falls apart. This is just one example of video game violence.

Rage isn't the only cause for violence related to video games. As our second example, we'll use something most gamers are familiar with: the Wii. The game that was bundled with the console for quite a while was Wii Sports, which used motion controls. Baseball is a popular sport to play on Wii Sports. It is very fun with two players. But what if the room is small and the two players are standing too close to each other? That's right, bonk. The pitcher motions a throw, then the batter swings right into the pitchers head with a Wii remote. Ouch. This may or may not result in a counter-attack, but either way, it causes some violence.

So whether it's rage-induced or purely accidental, video games can be a cause of violence. Is there a fix for this? Of course. Play easier games and be careful when swinging your Wii Remote around the room. But nevertheless, video game violence is in existence...
