I'm not here for a rant. Nor am I hear to bash someone. I want to get a point across about something that I feel strongly about.
Racism
Racism can happen to ANYONE of ANY race. Black. White. Asian. Indian.
Racism is not cool nor should it be condoned. I was recently called a racist, because I got angry that someone called me a very dirogetory name. I'm not going to get into details but none the less I WAS offended. I mean, Racism has been see as a Black & White situation, but it's not. Racism can happen because someone doesn't like the color of your skin, or if they feel they have power over you. If you're called a racist and you know you're not, just DON'T respond. Not responding will drive the person who started the situation crazy. They might end up trying to pick ANOTHER fight. When I was around 9-10 I was picked on at school because I was the only child in that school that was black, or in my case I was mixed. I used to come home everyday and cry myself to sleep. It's not fun to be the receiver of the bullying. You just have to keep your head in the game.
In the US segregation was used to restrict access that Aginst African Americans. There were laws passed by states keeping Blacks away from the polls and even making it harder for them to vote by asking for Poll Tax an literacy tests. Even through all of these Blacks kept there head up high and there pride down low. They didnt let the man who was treating them wrong get to them. Instead they took it as a learning experience. I hope you do the same!
That's all for now.
Any negative comments WILL be deleted.
Yup, saw that coming. I did'nt see any examples of african racism. Us "whites" have a reference beside that, i've never heard a african, asain, islander, or anyone else ever call a "white" Cocasian. Im mixed (native american/white) but still...
I'm the only white kid in my school and I usually get along fine with the other children. I suppose since most of them are kind gentle people they have the decency to look past my color and like me for me. Racism is not universal but is very common, I don't like how everyone believes that racism is inevitable when it is exactly the opposite. People find it a witty way to get the edge in a conversation when it really helps it in no way. And the people who say "Oh all these ____ people are racist" Do they not realize saying a group just because of their skin color is racist, makes them racist themselves? It's easy to knock out racism, but people are so unaccepting of such a great concept. No one tries therefore we can have no progress, perhaps if we quit talking about racism and find other ways to close the bridge between races we can over come this 'problem'.
I find it irritating when I argue with someone with a different race, and the argument has nothing to do with race. Then someone comes and says "U R RACIST!."
I can relate to the same story as Zues. I being through worse & i know how he feel. All i can say when someone call you something out of line give no response & keep it moving.
Really? He is stating about how he was offended by racism, and yeah we had about enough rants for that, but this isn't a rant. Get those 'OH NOES more drama' comments out of here, seriously.
Can't really say I've been in these situations. The only time someone would call me racist is when those kids are just being retarded. I would ignore them and (secretly) pity them, heck I do that all the time.
