With three new great titles nearing release, this ones been sandwiched between the others, Mario Galaxy 2, and Zelda Wii. If you've seen the trailers and researched it, tune out now please.
This is PORKStheMEATofKINGS here, with the scoop on Metroid: Other M.
In the Metroid series, there have been three REALLY defining titles. Metroid, Super Metroid, and Metroid Prime. If you've seen the trailers, it's back to it's side scrolling, like Super Metroid, roots in some pretty good looking 2.5D action that looks remarkedly like the XBLA title: Shadow Complex. So before us Prime fans start hate mailing Nintendo, wait! Point the WiiMote forwards towards the TV and BAM! First Person! Look's cool, but we'll have to see the final product to be sure.
In graphical splendour, the game looks so-so. You have to wonder whether the graphics during FPS-play is going to be as good as it was in the fantastic Prime trilogy. Judging from gameplay footage... no. It's not. But hey, who am I to judge, it's not even out yet.
Sad thing next... Retro Studios wasn't as involved in this one. Cry away, Prime fans, cry away. In their place is Team Ninja, who I believe, but not positive, to be responsble for the Ninja Gaiden titles. Will we be seeing Samus jumping off walls, turning invisible and using secret ninja arts? Only time will tell.
To wrap this up, you better buy the game, or I'll force you to play E.T on Atari 2600 for the rest of your life. I hope that's enough motivation for you >
