Graphics: Truly, the graphics aren't that impressive. I was sure the 3DS could do better.
Gameplay: Of course better than Galaxies, but trying to hop on an enemy is hard, because you can sometimes you land next to him and die/shrink.
Sound: Reused soundtracks are kinda dumb, but the ones reused are really catchy and fun to listen to.
3D: So far some of the best 3D seen on 3DS.
Super Mario 3D Land combines Galaxy gameplay, with New Super Mario Bros gameplay, to above views, to in front views. Truly a spectacular Mario game. You will be running, fluttering, throwing fireballs to boomerangs, and smashing ingo cardboard goombas in this Mario game. The Tanooki Suit makes a return, but disappointingly is overused. While every single enemy uses it at least once.
Level designs can be as clever as they could possibly be, but also frustrating. When platforms disappear, or when you are going on a moving platform with boos all around it, it's almost hard to get across.
Levels are also reused from time to time. But they get challenging when you have 30 seconds, or when you race Cosmic Mario who kills you when you touch him.
Clearly, not one of the longest Mario titles. Worlds+Specials only have 6-7 courses. Levels are also short, but having to rescue Luigi at the end gives value to countinue.
Overall: Super Mario 3D Land is a fun, fast, easy and hard title any 3DS owner should have.
4.5 out of 5 kittens.
