In 1798 a man named wolfe tone went to france to ask for help because ireland was going to have an rebellion. So anyway Wolfe Tone went and convinced them to send 1000 soldiers and 12 ships the ships tried landing at Bantry Bay but all ships were shipped wrecked so anyway the french soliders landed in galway and won the battle of castlebar but then they were forced to surrender in tipparary.so while all this was happening in wexford at viniger hill the irish were holding of the british they captured enniscorthey and new ross but the (redcoats) aka british fought back and a week later it was crusheed.


Wolfe Tone was captured when he got back to ireland he was sentenced to be hanged but committed suicide hours before his exuecution
