A Twilight Princess Against A Skyward Sword

Savii This week has been a very good week for Nintendo fans as the highly rated and anticipated Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword was released in two different bundles.

For years, I have been trying to get a copy of Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess, but never did.

This week I purchased both games, played them both through for 6 hours.

I though I'd make a blog comparing the two very spectacular games.

Before anyone gripes, yes I know Twilight Princess is five years old.

First of is the graphics. Twilight Princess has a "darker" more realistic feeling while Skyward Sword has more of an artistic style blending that of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess together.

Growing up on Ocarina of Time, I've favored a more realistic style, hence my liking of Twilight Princess just as much as Skyward Sword.

Both games have very good graphics for Wii, but Skyward Sword pulls ahead because of its more refined nature.

In terms of gameplay, Skyward Sword with WiiMo+ completely delivers a fresh new challenge into every task, whereas some motions become repetitive in Twilight Princes.

Story-wise, I would say both have their strong and weak points, and are both well crafted.

Overall I have to give the edge to Skyward Sword. I really do love the dark and edgy atmosphere Twilight Princess had, but the overal presentation tried to use dark colors to hide the graphic flaws.

If you own a Wii, and you don't own both, I would suggest purchasing them.
Nintendo is now selling Twilight Princess for only $20, which is an absolute steal.

Cool I got Twilight Princess a week before I got Skyward Sword so there both great games have yet to beat both.

Neither are you, and you still hand out crappy 'advice'.

I find it funny when people get upset over a new entry in a long-running franchise, like Zelda, over one of two thngs;

They changed too much, making it feel 'foreign' to the franchise.

Or, that they've changed too little, making it stale.

No one is appeased. ;D

I enjoy both of these games, I just got Skyward Sword and I'm still not done. I'm liking it so far, but Twilight Princess is still in my favor, but not my favorite Zelda game. That would have to be Ocarina of Time.

Why did you buy twilight princess for wii, it was originally for gamecube, that's why the motions are repetitive for wii, because they threw them in at the last minute. I personally think twilight princess was 100000 times too easy. And Skyward sword kinda scares me, all the changes they put in the gameplay.. I almost don't want to buy it or play it in case it ruins Zelda for me.

as my friends and i put it: "the graphics on skyward sword are the crack-baby of twilight princess and wind waker." i do like the mix between cell-shading and realism in skyward sword because it gives it an impressionist type feel. the only thing i do not like about skyward sword is zelda's look it is too young and contrasts with link's look.... yea, thats really all i have to say..... oh, and did you know that the city in the sky temple in twilight princess is in skyward sword but is almost impossible to find because of different topography..... now, thats all i have to say....

I don't do it every sentence but I do tend to divide up my text to make it easier for people to read.

I'd rather have two smaller paragraphs than one giant wall of text.

Twilight princess had noticeably better graphics I think, but they have different art styles so its hard to compare.

i see a lot more detail in twilight princess graphics and like the darker lighting as it creates an atmosphere while playing

i loved twilight pricess. seeing the graphics going worse puts me off skyward sword. is it really a better experience or is it just another ocarina of time with the graphics?

Twilight Princess was/is essentially a Wii port of what was to be the last GameCube game. Still need to buy it for my 'Cube.

I also forgot to mention I purchased Skyward Sword with the special edition Golden Wiimote with the Hyrule Crest, very cool.
