In a somewhat surprising statement made by Universal Studios Hollywood PR this week, a statement was made saying they have plans to bring the Wizarding World of Harry Potter to the Hollywood Park.

The original Wizarding World at Universal's Islands Of Adventure Park in Orlando FL opened last summer to an absolutely and overwhelmingly positive feedback.

Attendance rose by apox 33% and retail sales went up 15%.

The Florida iteration features three ride attractions, the star of which was Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, a massive and unbelievable experience, this 200+ Million Dollar Kuka Robotic Arm Darkride takes you on a five minute journey through the Adventures of Harry and his friends. Some of the ride scenes are absolutely breath-taking, especially the SPOILERLife Size Animatronic Whomping Willow and the Full Size Animatronic Dragon that breaths hot mist on you from just inches awayEND SPOILER.

The ride system features 36 4-person "magic benches" or Kuka Robotic Arms that feature a large range of speed and movement.


So is this what we can expect from Universal Studios Hollywood?
What is currently known is that the area will be located on the "upper lot" of the park and replace one or more of the aging attractions.
The most plausible location would call for removal of the Waterworld Stunt Show, the Gibson Ampatheater and the Shreck 4-D attraction.

How Long Till It Opens?
Considering that the Wizarding World for IOA was announced three years prior to its opening, we can expect to see our own version open in 2014/2015, the latter being most likely.

Will Ours Be Different?
Possibly. Currently, the chances are the negative aspects of FL's will be fixed, but it seems unlikely there will be a major difference in theming. Attraction-wise, who knows at this point.

What Will It Be Like?
Extremely immersive in nearly every respect. Not detail will be overlooked and you will truely feel there.
