Is it just me or was this whole Angry Birds frenzy supposed to end long ago? OK, we get it. Cute birds, pigs, killing, great graphics, and an addictive game play, but come on, how long is this going to continue? Well if I am judging by the number of news items the game generates, we are going to be seeing a lot more of Angry Birds in the coming years.
Well, we know where the birds got their inspiration from…
First there were Angry Birds the game, then toys, cakes, and even women’s lingerie. Check out the world’s first and largest Angry Birds pizza below! That was my doing!
The latest news is the Angry Birds retail store and a seriously comprehensive study about Angry Birds and its success. This is actually pretty astounding from a marketing perspective, especially given the amount of money Rovio spent on marketing the birds. A whopping big fat zero in dollars and cents.
So, I have my theories and the study I linked to above has a detailed and logical explanation of the Angry Birds phenomenon. But, I would like to hear your take on this craze. How do you explain this and can the success of the Angry Birds franchise be duplicated easily by another mobile developer?
