You know, I've kinda kept quiet for awhile about bullying. but I can't take it any more. I see people on this website and in real life bully others. I myself had to deal with bullying in 7th Grade and almost commited suicide. I went through all of that because I was "differen't" from everyone else. Bullying is not right and should be taken seriously.

Sometimes I lurk in chatrooms and watch some of the members. I see people ganging up on people and I used to sit back and not do anything, but now I promised myself that I will step in and I would not be a bystander and that I will intervene if I feel that it's not right.

Let's be honest, most of you were bullied at one point. Whether it would be if someone called you a name (Nerd, Homo, etc). It doesn't feel too good does it? So why should you bully someone else? Trolling has gotten out of hand and it's basicly bullying. Some people need to understand the fact that people have feelings. It may be just the internet, but someone may be very sensitive and you telling them to "Go die in a hole" makes things even worse. Would you like to be responsible for someone's death?

So please, I beg you, Stand up for yourself and stand up for others. We all can change lend a hand to change things for the better.

I agree with Viper (didn't quote...too long!).

Bullying is a part of life. There's always going to be somebody with a god complex, someone who thinks they're better than you, or someone who hates what/who you are.

Naturally they'll attempt to bring you down because of their hatred/complex. It's just the way things are.

All you can do is stand up for yourself and others. Find a group who has common beliefs, and stand together. Strength in numbers is strength indeed.

Also...trolls can go suck it. But I will admit I have trolled at some point...=X

I forgot to leave my personal comment on the blog.

I agree that bullying is a big problem on SDK. I'm a 1½ year member here, and it's been a problem since the day I signed up. Names like n00b, weeaboo, etc. are just ready-made ways of bullying. And as link284 said, block doesn't work very well when the entire chat is on you, which I have seen happen multiple times. And if you have to leave because the entire chat is trying to provoke you, that's got to be a horrible feeling. Also mentioned in an early comment, and the blog, it is possible to cyberbully someone to death. Have you ever heard of depraved heart murder? You never know when's somebody is on the edge.

There should be a hard-and-fast rule for banning all those involved in bullying.

While I don't agree with you on that, for the sake of argument I'll say it's true. Greed and jealousy are human tendencies as well. However, if we act upon thos tendencies and go and, say, steal a Ferrari, are there not consequences? If you give consequences to wrongdoers, (in an ideal world) they should be less inclined to repeat their crime. If they do, there's a stronger punishment. What would Britain be like if there was no law against murder? Obviously, there'd be more murder. But since there is a law and punishment in action, then that cuts down on the murder rate.

Anyway, you're giving the wrong advice. You tell people to take bullying seriously, but that's wrong. People shouldn't take bullying seriously. That way, bullies will have no effect.

1)Its called block, use it.

2) Bullying is never going to stop, people need to tuffen up. Whineing over it isn't going to help. Don't get upset or angry because, thats what the bully wants. So, instead do the oppisite of what the bully wants, don't act offended, agree with them and turn it into a joke and laugh about it. And if they keep bullying, tell an adult.

I hardly get bullied any more, because I know how to deal with bullies. That is all, goodbye. ._.

Good blog, good message, but (and I don't want to start an argument or hurt anyone's feelings) Zeus maybe you should've thought twice about claiming to leave SDK for good because you see this bullying and crud and can't do anything about it. I agree alot of ppl pick on other ppl cause their ugly its not nice so they may be ugly but they still are human beings and alot of bullies are bullies bcuz someone bullied them so they thought well im gonna do it too and tht not right u should do something about it
