Swapnote is an app in which you can send handwritten messages to your friends via Streetpass or Spotpass.
If you choose activate only strretpass, you can only receive messages from friends when you tag them. To send and receive messages from online friends, enable spotpass mode. In order to receive and send messages via spotpass you must have an internet connection nearby.

Now on with the actual review.

It starts out with this girl "Nikki" sending you information on how to use swapnote. Nearly every time I sent a note to one of my friends, Nikki sent me an informational note. In the beginning I thought it was nice, but now I find it down-right annoying.
You can reply to messages your friends sent to save space, however you can't reply to replies your friends made, so you have to start a new "conversation" as I like to call it every time your friend replies. You may not find this to be much of a big deal, but it just looks sloppy to me and seems like an error.

You can send picture messages which I haven't tried out yet, it looks promising though. You have to draw your messages like on flipnote hatena where you had to draw your comments. Now, this would be alright, but typing would be a whole lot easier. Another thing is, people might have bad penmenship, (like me, ask Carlos ) so that's another reason typing messages would be better. You can make your drawings "pop out" when you select to but I can't tell a difference to be honest.

Another thing that really annoys me is that I have to keep pressing "check spotpass" to check to see if someone sent me a new note. Why can't they just pop up like the notes from Nikki do?

I would rate this app a 7 out of 10 because it's a great app with potential, but they need to do something about the "conversations".

It's good in theory, but needs:
Instant Messaging
The ability to reply to replies on your message. (You cannot at the moment. "Hi!" "Hello" END OF CONVERSATION."

Myaluvsu, maybe you could go out and excercize then.

An option for text would be nice, but otherwise this is an AMAZING app. Also, stop giving negative comments. Nikki may be a Mii version of Navi ("HEY! YOU! Yeah, you! Listen! LISTEN! NOW YOU CAN PURCHASE NEW STATIONERY WITH PLAY COINS!!"), but the app came out three days ago; I'm sure there'll be updates.

Actually, it's to improve your writing skills. Some write better than others. Over time, your writing is just plain excellent!

Ugh. I'm kind of annoyed here.
The main reason I was waiting is because nintendo SAID they were going to make a replacement for flipnote studio. But did they REALLY? Nooooo sir! At least it was free. Anyways, I was waiting for 3D animation, and I still haven't got it. Thanks, Nintendo, for wasting my time T.T

I don't have a 3DS, so I can't say much, but I think the reason the notes are handwritten are because it's supposed to be like passing notes with your friends(or if you follow the rules, it's more like leaving notes in their locker(which explains why you have to check for them(/revelation))).

I noticed that too, doesn't really bug me much though. I mean, none of that is a necessity to me... Well, maybe backgrounds, that's about it.

I think it's great! I don't know why I can't send recent pictures though!
I don't think there should really be writing, since we have the other friend messaging, and it takes out some fun for more creative people. That's just my opinion.
