How was I supposed to know?
I guess you'd call me naive. Yeah, in the back of your mind, you knew I was,
knew anything you said I'd believe.

Well, that's the first time, and that's the last time, I'll let you step inside.
My walls are up,
you're shut out,
Oh, you didn't expect that when you lied?

You're pretty stupid yourself to think,
you could go on with it even longer.
Cause I may be dumb,
but I'm not as dumb as you, and it's only made me stronger.

You shout from outside,
you claim you're sorry,
but you don't know even half.
If I dared to tell you how much I cried,
you'd roll you eyes and laugh.

Man, I'm so glad I didn't give you my heart,
at least I was careful there.
You would of broken it up, handed it back numb,
and heck, you wouldn't even care!

I'm smarter now,
Don't think I would of held on,
And yeah, I learned the hard way.
I might of foolishly loved,
blind to his lies,
if he hadn't tossed me away.
