After what happened at the lake, we were sitting in the boat at the dock.
"Dang it, my shorts are wet!" he said " at least my shirts dry."
" Well look at me!" I said spreading my arms out. "I'm soaked!" he laughed. "don't worry, you'll dry. If I asked you to wear a swim suit it would've ruined the suprise."
"thanks for bringing me here." I said, wringing my hair out.
" You're welcome." he said. "I should be getting you back soon."
" Yeah, we should." I said getting up. We gathered our stuff and got into his truck. We backed out. We were almost to Bella's house when Jesse's car broke down again.
"Man, this thing is done!" he said, kicking the door. I sat down on the grass, he sat next to me.
"Em, sorry if his upsets you, but how did you end up in foster care? He asked.
"it's simple, my parents didn't want me so they put me up for adoption. A woman adopted me when I was three and brought me home. She told her husband she was ready to start a family. He was mad. He didn't want me either. She made sure she took me back. She cried to me and told me she was sorry. Then I was still in the orphanage unroll I was seven, I never got adopted. Everyone wanted their kids to have blond hair and blue eyes, two thing which I do not have. So they put me in foster care. Most families don't keep me long. I guess I'm just ugly or something. I said throwing a pebble across the street.
" Em, look at me. You're not ugly. You're the smartest, prettiest girl i've ever met." he leaned in to kiss me.
" Uh, I should start walking." I said, standing up.
"Yeah me too." he said, standing up also. He ran his finger through his hair. " Well, I'll text you in the morning."
" Okay." I said. "Bye."
"Goodbye Emily." he said, he called me by my whole name. I walked the short way to Bella's house and slipped back into my pajamas. I fell asleep for what seemed like ten minutes. Bella's alarm was going off.
"happy Saturday Em!" she yelled at me.
I grumble back to her.
"Oh, please get up!" she said. I really didnt want to get up but I did. I stood up, my whole body ached from swimming.
" Hey Em, you look a little sore." she said peeling and orange. "You okay?" she asked.
"Yeah I had a long day yesterday." I said, floppig down on the couch. It was a long day, my phone buzzed in my hand. It was a blocked number. Assuming it was Jesse, I opened it. "Good morning Em, did you have a nice swim? Be careful what you do. I'm always watching." what the heck? I thought. Some one was watching last night.
