She'll make you doubt it more.
She'll twist your circumstances,
and your thoughts she will contort.
You used to not imagine it
any other way,
now, deep down, I know because of her
you'll stay.
All you ever wanted, so you said,
was someday, to be with me.
I always knew someday you would,
but now, it's just hard to believe.
She's with you everyday,
she sees you more than I do.
And when the time to pick arrives,
I know which of us you'll choose.
One time, I told you,
I'd be happy as long as you were.
But my castles in the air were built on a dream,
now crashing down because of her.
You get to wrap your arms around her,
get to whisper in HER ear.
I can't deny I am far away...
And that she is very near.
When you mentioned her nameless,
I never told you but... I cried.
I mean, at least you were honest.
But I half wish you would of lied.
I wish you would of spared me,
I could of lived my flase dream longer!
You may not see, but I do,
that your desire for her is stronger.
Now you forced me into
years more of tears and sadness.
Please, why DID you tell me?
It could of been a few more of smiles and gladness.
I know i've never met her...
I'm sure I never will...
but... somehow, I just know...
she's... beautiful...
I'll be happy if you are,
The times I said it were not lies.
But I'll still be jealous she gets your smile,
and your shoulder when she cries.
So, a few years down the road,
no need to wonder where you were.
I'll know the reason my heart broke,
is because you stayed...
...because of her.
