Expanded Profiles

Since there was so much interest in the expanded profiles after my latest blog, I have decided to bump that to top priority. The planned release is this week. Here are some of the planned features.

1. Page templates (initially Default and Savii)
2. Pages selectable from a drop box on each page
3. Set one of the pages as the primary profile page
4. Set pages to friends-only viewing

All pages will support BB code in the same manner that the current profile bio does, so members can style and customize them any way desirable.

If you would like to see anything else, feel free to post suggestions, and I'll see what I can do.

you are talking about bulliten board code. I dont know manny so is there a place i could see the different commands

Well it turns out that it doesn't support most Javascript codes...like just a button for pop up alerts. And other stuff like marquee, redirections, etc. Just suggesting some cool stuff.

It's already possible using the [ image ] tags. Just type in the URL to the GIF.

I'm with Maxi.

Hull should let us report people who friend us if we see something extremely inappropriate. Problem solved.

Well, It is good and not so good ideal because, Admins can see friends only page so ppl wont get in trouble for their content!

While I am new as a ChatMin, I do see both RoD's and John's points. But here's the thing. we're the ones who have to and can ban when necessary. This is is very helpful for ProfileMins who have warned users for inappropriate content, so it's useful for ChatMins to check up on what is being reported and if it's ban worthy.

Maxi, I know it happens in messages without a doubt. I'm not prepared to just open another door for it. In the U.S there are laws against this you may not be aware of.

SirQuin, it's not a good idea to assume I am closed minded. I only assume the worst because in all my years of membership here, it's become an issue I'm aware of. I'm not out to play the badguy, but if you knew how often these things come up and how destructive they are you might agree with me.

If profiles were for friends only, more people would be exposed to whatever inappropriate stuff is on there. And not everyone wants to see that stuff.

I`m glad you are open-minded(NOT!)... It seems to me you assume the worst in others. I mean sure, certain things not appropiate here may show up, but not everyone wants a cyber-fest. I know I don`t.

You know there are things people like to keep private, right? Without us knowing, what do we care? It's the same idea as the inbox. Messages are only destined for the person it's sent to and we shouldn't be bothered, even if it contained inappropriate stuff.

It's also not something moderators should ban for in other sections like chatrooms. That doesn't make sense afterall. I don't respect those members however.

I don't mean to invade user's privacy, but I hope there will be exceptions to this rule about friend only profile viewing.

Terminators, Profile editors, or Chat moderators should be granted access regardless.

If not, I see problems with innapropriate pictures being posted...

Before anyone complains about how certain mods should be blocked and shoul not have the privaledge anyway (due to grudges) please understand if a moderator is giving you problems he/she is not fit for the job anyway.

How about, we have a list where you can list your games that you have for PC/DS/3DS/Wii/PS3/XBox, and click "Available" or "Unavailable" and then people could see it?

I would hope you can add website statistics as a page. Perhaps game hiscores, or if you complete the maze of blogs. Also add a merit history. When someone achieve a new badge rank, or even when they recieved adminship.

Times logged in, words typed, and similar stats would be great too.

Or, make a page you can write on!
I`d love to show my penmanship and artistic talents at the same time.

Hull, i agree with Gleeok!
That way we can fit more in our profiles too cause on 3DS and DSi after a certain amount of words it stops and it you have [ style ] codes in your profile then you have a really short profile!

I got one! How about...anyone who isn't your frend can read your unfeatured blogs, but can't comment on them. When they're featured blogs, they can comment on them. Friends can read your blogs and comment on all of them.
