"I Know You Will"
An Original Song By:
Everest
Lyrics:
For my amazing mother, who I wish would hurry along with her surgery.
Verse 1:
I know you're not quite up to speed
I know you take pain into greed
Even when
Your life is but a seed
I don't wanna see you leave
I don't wanna see you
On the cold hospital bed
But I gotta get it in my head
It'll make my momma feel better
Chorus:
I Know You Will
get better
I Know You Will
Get back on your feet; light as a feather
I get a little scared
When I see you cry
I don't want to have to see you fall
I Know It Will
Hurt you
I know it'll make you cry
But it'll make you better
Inside,
I'm a little kid who doesn't wanna see his momma cry
But on the outside
I know it'll make you fly
Verse 2:
No one likes it
When their family is hurt
But I see it everyday, now
And I don't wanna take it into memory
I don't wanna hold a bottle
Filled to the top with your tears
But I'd carry a thousand pounds
Of all your fears.
I'll read to you every night
Like you read to me.
I'll help to rock you to sleep
Like you did when I was a baby
I'll wipe away your tears
Like your trembling hand did for mine
Because now, It's my turn
To make sure your fine.
Repeat Chorus
Verse 3:
I don't like it when your hurt
I don't think any child does
It's not like a splinter
Or a cut like I had
This is worse
And it's pretty bad.
This is coming from the heart
I don't want you to cry
It's hurting you
And that's just killing me
I wish I could give you a band-aid
Like you did for my pain
I wish I could kiss it
Until it got better
But I can't.
You need to do it.
And you need to do it fast.
Because then
We could make up for the years
That you couldn't dance.
Repeat Chorus
Outro:
They'll make it better
They'll make it stop I swear
This time, it's my turn to care.
I'll make sure they do it right
I'll stand by your side
I'll make sure they fix you,
by tonight.
Thank you so much for reading this. I wrote this for my momma. She has problems with her back. She got it when I was young. I'm 13 now, so it seems we've missed doing a lot together. She's going into back surgery, maybe. My dad was fired and obviously, she can't work. So we're in a really bad time in our lives. I just hope she gets better, soon.
I kinda know where you're going with this and with a little bit of musical lyricism, the emotions that you're projecting with this song would melt my heart... I'd love to hear a chord progression and a meldoy to this song, just to get that heart-wrenching feeling going through my head This could definately be a powerful song!
And again, there are two teensy grammatical mix-ups:
First Verse: "I know *you're not quite up to speed"
Third Verse: "I don't like it when *you're hurt"
Sorry about my grammar-naziness, hopefully it doesn't bother you... And I really hope your mother has a clean surgery and gets well, and I really hope that your family can pull through your rough times! Remember, if you look on the bright side of things, you'll find that everything will be okay ;3
