I figure I`d diverge from sleep topics and express a much more common event in humans.

Hypermobility is the unstandard capabilities of human movement. It is considered double-jointed(but it`s not) because it is often grouped with bending joints in the reverse direction of their intended use. Let`s list some examples to get your mind running.

Finger locking- Some can bend the tips of their fingers without bending the middle joint. From there, some can swing the fingers from side to side.

Inverted Knees- Some can mimic Barbie dolls by bending their knees in.

Perfect Toe Touching- Some extremely flexible people can touch the floor or their feet with their palms. All the mean while, the elbows and knees are kept stiff and straight.

There are many more, but I must continue.

Most would think it is advantageous, right? I mean, Michael Phelps swam his way to Gold Medals, and he was extra bendy in the joints. Well, most can experience the bad end of the deal.

First I must explain what causes hypermobility. It is the result of error. Muscles may be grown inproperly, lying to the side of their necessary position. Some joints just may be shallower than others, giving that flexibility. The others, are inherited, meaning that these syptoms can travel in the family. These unexpected outcomes can cause much pain for the person. I am a victim myself.

Joint Pain- With weakened limbs, one needs to exert more energy. This can make someone tired quicker, or cause injury.

Dislocation- The ill placed muscles and joints make you more susceptible to injury.

Clicking- One`s joint will chafe upon another. It causes a little pain. I can list from experience. Currently, I can clack my right ankle, and both my should blades. I used to be able to repeatedly crack my big toe.
Some may need more opiates for surgery, and women can be crippled during pregnancy due to the hips locking up.
