The day dragged on after Ashjun had finished sparring with Abbie. Bridget hadn't any training for him that day except, "Combining Pearl Rivers." He had no idea what that meant, and when he had asked for a clue Bridget had just shushed him. "The point of today's training is to train your mind to handle your body, if you can't figure this out, you'll never move forward." With that she had left. He felt like he had to talk to Trevor, but he was nowhere to be seen. "Hey Yumi! Do you know where Trevor is?" he called across the camp. Yumi looked up from cleaning a ginormous bundle of expensive clothing from her tent. Yumi always had expensive tastes. He didn't know where she got the money though, and when he asked her she always got this weird expression on her face as if she was trying to remember. "God, she's pretty." Ashjun thought. Her blonde hair was disheveled and she had mud on her jeans but to ashjun she just radiated happiness and beauty, although he would never admit it to her face. He was afraid he would get rejected and then their life long friendship would be ruined. Yumi stood there a moment thinking, "Oh! He went into the woods, most likely to think about my dream." "Dream?" He asked walking over to her. She had some sort of smudge on her face from cleaning products, so Ashjun grabbed a rag and wiped it off for her. She laughed happily, "Well, I had a nightmare..." She began getting solemn and then told Ashjun what had commenced in her dream and what had happened last night. "That's terrible! When i see Dr. Malone again I'm going to-" "Do what Ashjun? He's much stronger then all of us combined, he's no nitwit, you know." Yumi had cut him off before he could over-react and become irrational, for which Ashjun was grateful. "Oh never mind. Thanks for telling me that Yumi." She smiled and said, "Of course! You're my best friend I'd do anything for you." Ashjun beamed and walked away. He thought about talking to Abbie about it, but thought better since Yumi would want to tell her herself. He headed towards the woods, thinking he could catch up to Trevor quickly and still be back in time for lunch. He started off on the path, enjoying the warm sunlight and bushy green foliage. Birds sang in every direction. The world was at peace, and Ashjun was too. He thought about many things, his missing sister, how he met Yumi, becoming a ninja, and realized he had come a long way from his desolate childhood. He had been walking for quite awhile now and stopped to take a rest. He took a drink from his flask. He was suddenly very conscious of the fact that all he heard was the glugg of the water going down his throat."Where'd the birds go?" He thought. He heard foot steps about 15 meters away and immediately hid, thinking of Yumi's encounter with Dr. Malone the night before. It turned out to be a person covered in a red cloak. They hadn't noticed Ashjun yet and continued walking stealthily. It looked as though they were sneaking up on somebody. There was a clearing to the right of him on the path that was surrounded by dead trees. Abbie had called it the "graveyard' when they had set up camp. Everything was dead in that small circle shaped clearing, some birds even got sick for flying over head. The cloaked person bravely walked across it anyway, paying no attention to their surroundings. They crashed through the foliage and stopped, straightening and began to talk. Ashjun heard very little of what the cloaked person had said so he decided to get a closer look. He was about to get out of the bush when a whole army, it seemed, of cloaked people appeared out of nowhere. None payed any attention to Ashjun though, which was good. A few moments later a helicopter appeared dropping a ladder for the first cloaked individual and whoever they were talking to. They got on, and the ladder quickly rose high above the treeline. Ashjun finally saw the face of the cloaked person, who was a woman with chocolate brown hair and red eyes. she was extremely pale and frail looking, but was well respected it seemed. Ashjun almost cried out when he saw who she was riding with. It was Trevor. he was tied around the waste with a gag clothe in his mouth. Ashjun wasn't even sure how he was staying on the ladder. Trevor looked his way and caught sight of him immediately. His eyes were begging for help. In a few seconds they had disappeared, along with the weird cloak cult. he waited a few moments, and then got out of the bush. He ran nonstop back to camp. When he arrived he was so out of breathe he could not speak for several minutes. He had scared everyone badly crashing into camp the way he had, so when he finally could speak Yumi and Abbie had already fired a list of questions as long as the New Webster's Dictionary. He told them exactly what had happened. Silence followed, and Abbie broke down crying. Yumi's face was puzzled as well as Mrs. Naughee's. However, Bridgit's was unreadable as usual. "How will we find him?" Yumi whispered. "He could be anywhere since he was taken by a helicopter!" Bridgit nodded, and said simply, " We cannot search until all of you figure out your riddles. You will not be strong enough to defeat Malone until you do." Everyone stared horrified at Bridget. "No!" Abbie cried, "We have to go NOW!!" she tugged on her mom's sleeve, eager for her to follow, but to no avail. "Do you not care about Trevor!?" She screamed. She ran to her tent crying as though the world was ending. For her, it probably was, but Ashjun couldn't afford to let his emotions get to him. He had to stay strong for Trevor. Seeing Bridget wouldn't budge he went to his tent to gather information on his riddle...
