I felt weird that morning when I woke up. I was hot. Really hot. I felt like I had a sunburn all over me. I got up out of bed, and walked down the hall.
I sat down at the breakfast table, thinking. What would I do?
I decided to do out and shovel my driveway. It had snowed at least a foot last night. I grabbed the shovel and stepped out into the deep snow.
I started shoveling in one long line down to the end of the driveway. I reached the end and turned around to start the sides, but saw a suprising scene.
The driveway was clear.
I looked at it and then looked down to see if something was wrong with my shoes, and I saw a puddle of lava.
I decided to go to work anyways, figuring it was some mirage I saw. I did have a sunburn, and my head hurt.
I reached my office and accidentally burned a plant.
Wendy, the secretary, walked up to me as I headed for a meeting I was supposed to go to.
"Your boss wants to see you," she said then walked away.
I stopped and turned around. I arrived at my boss' office and sat down.
"Hello, James. I understand you've been 'torching' plants, so I'm afraid I'll have to fire you."
"Fire me?"
"Yes, I am afraid so. That is all, you may leave."
I stormed out of his office and headed for the elevator. As the doors closed, I heard someone that I walked past worriedly ask, "Is that lava on the floor?"
I smiled as I walked home. The building had been evacuated, then it melted. Unfortunately(or fortunately), they couldn't save the plants.
I decided to take a nap. Burning down a building was hard work. I lied down and started to fall asleep when I saw flames rising from the blankets at my feet.
"Uh oh..."
