Title
Uroboros Virus
History
Developed jointly by Albert Wesker and Tricell and derived from the Progenitor virus found within the Sonnentreppe, the Uroboros virus was Albert Wesker's own take on Ozwell E. Spencer's plot to use the Progenitor virus to spur evolution and artificial selection upon the human race. Rejection of Uroboros usually leads to the creation of a creature that has zero intelligence, with the host being completely ripped apart from the inside. Only those with a specific genetic code and "superior DNA" would be able to retain their original form, becoming advanced humans. Human beings with inferior genes would find exposure to the virus fatal.
Development
Initially, to researchers at Tricell, the purpose for the Uroboros virus' creation was to create a virus surpassing the potential of the G-virus and T-Veronica virus. Issues including extreme mutations, mental atrophy and instability in the virus were to be resolved. In the end, Uroboros was completed with all of the above being solved, the end result was supposedly similar to the Wesker virus, with the trademark eyes being exhibited if the virus was initially accepted.
If Uroboros adapts to an individual at a genetic level, that said individual will gain the advanced properties of the virus, including increased strength and intelligence while retaining their general will and characteristics, much like the Progenitor virus and Wesker virus variant.
Administration
Under laboratory testing settings, the Uroboros virus injection requires a volume equal to that of the subject's weight. Upon administration to a subject, the virus will attempt to adapt to it's DNA, at which time the virus enters a state of dormancy. If unable to properly adapt to the subject's DNA, the virus will rapdily begin to assimilate organic matter to fuel it's intense growth. If the virus' attempt at adapting to the subject fails, black leech-like postules will expel themselves from the surface of the skin, due to the rapid transformation of cells caused by the virus.
The resulting "creature" acts purely on the urge to assimilate all surrounding organic matter in order to fuel growth, and the postules possess the ability to split off and form themselves into smaller, seperate organisms if the creature becomes large enough. This is different in comparison to the Progenitor virus, in which rejection of the virus due to incompatible genetics usually leads to the subject being fatally poisoned.
Infectees
Three failed Uroboros subjects were encountered by Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar in West Africa. The first was an unknown African male who was injected with the virus and failed to adapt to it, with the resulting creature being used as a diversion on the B.S.A.A. Alpha team sent to intercept a deal involving Ricardo Irving. The second Uroboros, dubbed "Mkono" was an official test subject for the virus who almost completely bonded with the virus. This subject retained control for a limited period before transforming into an Uroboros creature. The third Uroboros was previously Excella Gionne, following injection of the virus by Albert Wesker as a means of betrayal. Dubbed "Aheri", this subject assimilated a large pile of corpses in the vicinity and quickly grew to an immense size before being destroyed by the Tricell Shango satellite.
"Aheri" means "end" or "limit".
"Mkono" means "hand" or "palm".
