Mae woke up with several people surrounding her.
But there were was her mom, peering over her.
"I told you not to go out" Mae could slightly hear her mother say. Her hearing was wobbly.
"Don't worry about me then" Mae murmered to herself.
"What happened to the train?" She added
"It went round in circles for a while, it seemed it was going faster everytime" a Guard said.
"And it crashed eventually" Said another
"The person driving it didn't make it" Said the first man slowly.
Mae said nothing. She sat up, speechless.
One of the reasons she loved trains, was because her father drived them. She wanted to drive with him when she was older. She was planning that to be her career.
"Who was driving it?" Mae asked.
"Theres a timetable here, let me check" Said the first guard.
The whole platform was silent. Mae caught a look at the transparent roof. She must have been asleep fr hours, it was night.
"Ah, Maire Gailway" Said the man
Mae's mother looked at the man speechless. Mae turned towards the man and instantly felt like she was going to burst into tears.
"...Maire is my father" Said Mae
Mae's mother stood up, and looked around for any signs of him. Of course, it wouldn't happen. No-one could come back after they've died.
Mae rolled over and started sobbing.
Several Hours later, they were still at the station. They were aloud free meals, due to what happened. Neither of them spoke.
Mae noticed the rows of withered flowers. She walked over, and started picking them one by one.
Later that night, Mae's mother had collapsed from the shock.
She woke up. Mae stopped opening and shutting the windows.
"We're living a nightmare" Mae's mother said, sitting up a fraction.
Mae, glad to see her mother was okay, nodded slowly.
She looked back out the window, listening to the trains rushing past.
She slammed it shut, after seeing one of the trains looking identical to her fathers. Wasn't it smashed?
