Ingredients-(makes 4 cups)1 and 3/4 cups of milk, 5 tablespoons sugar, 3eggs, a bit of vanilla.
Caramel sauce: 3 tablespoons of sugar, 1 table spoon of water.
1) Put the milk on low heat. Stir well. When the sugar melts, stop the heat and cool for a minute. Make sure not to boil the milk.
2) Break eggs in a bowl. Stir well.
3) Slowly pour the milk from step 1 into the egg bowl and stir. Add some vanilla.
4) Pour mix from step 3 through a strainer. This will make the flan smoother.
5) Make the caramel sauce in a small pot. Put the milk and sugar in the pot. Stir quickly over high heat. When it becomes brown, remove from heat and put it into four cups.
6) Pour mix from step four into cups over the caramel sauce.
7) Fill a pot with water and put a steamer above it. When the water starts steaming, stop the heat and put the cups into the steamer (DON'T BURN YOURSELF!). After 2-3 minutes on high heat, lower the heat and steam for another 13-15 minutes. When its on low heat, move the lid a little so some of the steam escapes. The point is to maintain it on low heat. Put a towel under the lid that way the flan won't get water in it.
Poke a hole in the flan with a tooth pick. If juice doesn't come out it's done. After it cools, put it in the refridgerator. Top it with whipped cream and fruit, and it's done!
Tip: Making flan in plastic is easyer and it will come out prettier!
