When the affluent inject their wealth into the economy with large purchases, remember that up to $6000 of sales taxes can come from any such purchase in Florida. (Other states may not cap that amount.) The goods purchased too many individuals to manufacture, ship, sell, advertise, etc. Each of these people have their own paychecks benefitted with job security (or commission, as mentioned). They further inject money into the economy with their own purchases and tax revenue. This ripples outward, with attrition, to countless people. In other words: I like it when they buy their flashy toys!
