society`s technology quickly makes the population bored,

As new contraptions are made.
The lazy become more lax and the CEOs get paid.

Soon, supply and demand will be irrelevant,
the time of growth will have come and went.

War and bloodshed will harden the people,
any loyalty disipates in church and even the steeple.

It`s every man for himself, or should I child?
Adults have been eliminated and order gone wild.

With no proper superiority, the youngsters turn to themselves.
Any wise words in books or manuscripts stay on the shelves.

Try as they might, it`s obvious the children failed.
It`s impossible to suggest they would have prevailed.

A world lacking in education meant no more generations,
Turf wars, now common, create
sub-nations.

The life is alright, but never fun.
Yet, the kids, now adults, think not of what they`ve done.

The new adults feel the effects of time,
and never question the error of this colossal crime.

Who was to blame?
It doesn`t matter; the result would be the same.

In a last-ditch effort, the kids pooled what little resources they had,
and tried to make some good left by the previous generation`s bad.

The portal, a time machine, was made to save them all.
They sent the youngest one, a boy quite small.

His story, all hoped, would prevent this era of sorrow.
Perhaps, mankind will never worry what will happen tomorrow.
