From a certain perspective, among gamers, there are nostalgia gamers. They like old games, original games. From systems such as the NES, SNES, or Sega Genesis.

You've probably heard something like "There's nothing as good as the original" when referring to a series. But sequels can actually be good, and many are. Now, nostalgia gamers seem something like fanboys. They think the old games are best, and may complain that the newer games are not similar enough to the originals.

In the past few years, and still this year, Nintendo, for example, has been making sequels and new games in older series such as Super Mario Bros. and Donkey Kong Country.

Donkey Kong Country Returns is an amazing game. Sure, it doesn't have the same exact things as the first in the series, but it's probably good that it's not "Donkey Kong Country 4: Kiddy and Chunky's Banana Bonkers". In fact, I think it has even improved upon the original. Same style, great visuals, and fun gameplay.

So, if you want a game to be just like the original, go play the original. New twists can be good in sequels. Gaming companies use advancing technology for better graphics, controls, and more. And it's pretty awesome.
