Use fire resistance potions, with armor, and as someone suggested: Try snowballs (use any spade on snow to get snowballs)

One, creepers weren't created by a "coding bug" their skin was modeled after a failed version of a pig in early Survival Test.
Two, you didn't mention to bring snowballs for blazes.
Three, you didn't say that you can use water buckets on Endermen to kill them.
Also, a good way to kill spiders is make a 1 wide, 2 tall doorway at the entrance to the spawn area/dungeon, and hit them.
As for skeletons, it is good to strafe back and forth while blocking (optional), or fight them with projectile protection enchanted armor.
