Ok so, this isn't the type if blog I normally do. But everything I'm going to write about has been on my mind the past few weeks. I just thought it'd be a good thing to share.
So, what has been on my mind? Lots of stuff. I can't just cram it under one title or category, so to speak. So I'll just start talking about it.
Alright, well, I'm sure everyone (most at least) have some sort of dream or aspiration. Some common ones are to become a famous singer, writer, actor or actress, others may include becoming a doctor, a scientist, or an inventor. The list of dreams and aspirations people have goes on and on. And might I add, I believe there is not much purpose in life if one has neither of those things.
So, quite obviously, if you have a dream or aspiration, you want it to come true, you want to live up to it, succeed at it, become it. But this is where most people fall short. Dreams are good and well, but if you're just going through life, waiting for the magical moment when you suddenly achieve it, I have some bad news: it's never going to happen.
I mean, really, think for a moment. You say you dream of becoming a famous singer, but you never try to improve your singing, to put yourself out there, gain publicity, showcase your talent, inform others of your dream. So basically, to put it quite simply, you don't work for it.
Dreams don't just "come true". They are the things in life that you must work the hardest for, sweat and bleed over, throw your life into. And to be quite honest, if it's a real dream, you should do it without hesitation.
I love music. I play piano and I write poetry and songs. I dream of becoming a well known songwriter and musician, one of my particular dreams is to play piano for some of the most famous singers in the world, Adele particularly. It's not really about getting my songs on the top of the charts or becoming filthy rich, what I desire is the experience and what I could learn from other great musicians.
That's another thing- learning. You want to become a singer, you must be willing to learn as much as you can about singing whenever the opportunity arises. You want to become a doctor, even before you're an adult you can start reaching books, start learning before medical school. Anyone with the attitude of, "I'm already the best and I don't need to learn anything else from anyone," has a 99% chance of failure. The attitude you SHOULD have is, "Ok, I know I'm not the best, but I'm going to strive to be MY best and to continually learn from my mistakes and to always learn anyway I can."
At the moment, I do piano covers on YouTube. I have three up. That's my first step towards my dream. Putting myself out there for others to see. And I admit I'm no piano prodigy, but I do the best I can do.
I have to work at it. I have to practice for at least an hour everyday, have the patience to learn songs by ear note-by-note, to keep trying till I get it right. Then I have to arrange them till I am satisfied with how they sound. Then practice then till they're as flawless as they'll ever be, then film them, but them up, and try to get as many views as I can.
I also watch many other piano cover musicians on YouTube and learn from them. I observe their techniques and how they do it then apply it to me to make my playing better.
So I don't just sit around and say to myself, "Gee. Can't wait to play for Adele someday." I have to work hard for it however I can.
So if you have a dream, and you're just sitting around waiting for it to come true, get up off your backside and stop being lazy, and start working for it.
Who knows; it may come true!
My dreams are to become a state patrol, I talk to officers all the time (tried talking to state patrols before but they are scary and intimidating) I've read and learned many things about the job. I already have a scholarship plan to go to the Tulsa Police Academy. Some others dreams are to lead others to Christ, and inspire people in any way possible. I like playing guitar but with so many others far above my level I don't rely on it as a career, although it does help my social status, if you know what I mean (:< . I think people should do whatever they want. Hard work pays off, and since people nowadays hardly strive to do anything, you can easily make a good living with just a little effort. Keep up the great work Megan
