Swiftly, stealthily. Not a sound could be heard. The slender, agile shadow quickly made its way through the forest. The skilled moves and dodges made the task of navigating such an overgrown and wild forest seemingly effortless. And to her, it was.
She was on a mission. She was used to her job by now, having done it for almost 5 years. She would track him down, do what she was hired to do, an flee.
She never got caught. That's why she was feared and distanced. No one wanted anything to do with her unless they needed her for something. And people only ever needed her for one thing.
This fact ceased to bother her years ago. However, when she was young, she was distances for a more... superstitious reason.
"Oh man TB she was somethin', let me tell ya'."
The figure suddenly stopped, as voices could be heard just yards ahead. It was Kyler. She knew him all too well
"Just like Clare, and Rayanne, and Deliah, and Rebecca?"
The figure crouched, peering silently through the thick overgrowth as a second voice spoke. TB.
"Ok ok no Clare was something I'm not even going to say, Ruth was just-"
"Rayanne, Kyler. Not Ruth."
The quiet figure tensed, moving a small but strong hand to a black sheath near it's leg.
"Whatever. Ruth, Rayanne, doesn't matter. But she was something for like a week and after that she showed her true colors."
The figure inhaled noiselessly, then hesitated. She never, hesitated yet here she was.
"It's just another job," She told herself.
"Rebecca was just like oh my GOSH-"
Kyler fell to the ground, the breath swiftly knocked out of him. He felt a weight on his back, a knife plunged into his shoulder blade. He gasped for air then retailed, rolling over quickly and knocking the attacker off his back.
TB grabbed the attacker's arm without a second thought, wrenching the hand holding the bloody knife behind the assailant's back. The attacker yelped and dropped the knife, then fell to the ground as Kyler pinned her arms to the forest floor.
"Mask, huh? Sneaky. Very sneaky. Let's see who you are."
She felt the mask torn off her face, the bright sun above almost blinding her. She withered inside at her captor's expression.
"Imagues...?"
She twisted her wrists and stumbled to her feet, sprinting as fast as she could back into the forest from whence she came.
