Hello fellow bloggers and viewers, I am back for more reviews. For my return I wanted to review a game I love. I grew up during the 90s and had a N64. I was a big wrestling fan and own a copy of WWE No Mercy.
WWE (or WWF) was in the attitude era. Did the game disappoint the timeframe? No way! This maybe the best wrestling game ever. No Mercy formed wrestling games into what they are now. This game invented certain features such as story mode and backstage bawls.
The story mode is probably the best story mode I played. It has serval endings and paths you can take. Unlike today's games, you didn't have to be on a winning streak. There was mandatory matches were you had to win, but that made it, so you couldn't lose your way to gold. Another great freature is you could play as any wrestler in story mode. The way that worked was the story was made for a certain champ and not a certain person. Also you could defend the title in story mode.
You could go to any backstage area in a hardcore match. There was the boiler room, parking lot, bar, and locker room. In addition, a hallway that connected it. I know No Mercy's backstage wasn't the best since the smackdown games shown us that. But it still was the first.
The game had unlockable characters, weapons, apparell, moves, and arenas. This was a great feature and another first.
Today's games have really only graphics over No Mercy. The people look bad and look like their face was drawn on. I guess that's what "print" model face means. It's a great game if you have a N64. IN THE RING, THIS GAME GETS 10 OUT OF 10. AND THAT'S THE BOTTOM LINE BECAUSE SUPERTIMOD SAYS SO.
