The crowded hallways, the mean people, the awful food, weekend homework assignments..sounds wonderful, does it not?
It's not as bad as you think, my dear. Sure the first day is nerve wrecking, and scary. Chances are you'll get lost and people will be mean to you. It's highschool, were you expecting a big welcome celebration? I'm going to give you some advice that you'll hopefully find useful.
Just do your work. It's really not that hard to take about 30 minutes to an hour to sit and finish all of your homework. If you're struggling, just go to your teacher the next day and say, "Yo, I need some help with this, I didn't get it." That's what they're there for. I never did this as a freshman, I was lazy and barely asked for help. Don't do that, possibly the worst thing you can do because on a test you'll regret that. You can almost always go in for help, or ask your friends who might understand. Education's important kiddies, don't become a lazy procrastinating slacker.
Try to socialize. That quiet kid in your class? Yeah go talk to him. Be nice. Being rude to those who you think you're 'superior' to won't get you anywhere.
That mean group of girls/ boys? Yeah, they won't matter in 10 years because you'll most likely never see them again. Just try to avoid them, if you can. It will save you a lot of trouble and hurt.
Don't be a pushover. Letting people walk all over you is never good, vise versa. Taking advantage of people will cause people to hate you. And it'll probably come back and bite you in the butt. It will most likely lead you to get hurt a lot, and you don't want that.
Try not to judge people. You don't know them. You don't know what's going on in their life. Don't hate someone because of what you hear. Just keep your judgement to yourself, it will save you a lot of time, and it will keep you out of unneeded drama.
I hope this advice helps, and have fun in highschool.
