The rope soon ended and Ares landed on the roof of the building. Dust rolled up into the air from his feet. He saw an Ionian guard below and jumped down, bringing his dagger down into the guard's head. It punctured and sent the guard crashing to the ground. Achaean soldiers ran by him and stormed the buildings ahead.
Ares stood up and looked far ahead. Ionian soldiers were rallying up around the buildings. Hephaestus ducked and brought his blade across the torso of one of the soldiers, knocking him to the ground.
"Ares, they are forming fast! We must make for Menelaus!"
"I'm working on that!"
A loud bell began to ring and alert everyone.
"Damn watchtower."
Ares ran up beside Hephaestus and held his sword high.
"Get the soldiers to Menelaus! I will deal with that tower!
Hephaestus nodded and walked off, cutting down enemy soldiers. Arrows began to fall, taking out Achaean soldiers. Ares looked around for the bell and saw a man at a far corner of the wall. He was holding a rope and bashing a large bell. He ran up a building and grasped the ledge, pulling himself up. He ran from the roof and leapt across the gap to the adjacent building. Once he made it, he continued on to the next. Arrows flew by his face and lodged themselves in wooden planks along the way.
Ares released the hilts on his daggers and chains fell from them, linking both daggers together. The tower was a few meters away. He jumped up onto a canopy and dashed along the building. Archers were lined up on the wall ahead. Ares jumped on to the roof of the closest building and sprinted towards the edge. Releasing all his power, he leapt from the building and spun his blades with the chain. The blades were tossed high into the air and hooked into the creases of the tower. The archers shot down at him. Ares held onto one dagger in the wall and pulled the other one out, spinning the chain and cutting the arrows in half. The arrows fell and he tossed the dagger higher up the tower.
